Hong Kong Public Holidays 2016: How to maximize your time off for Travel

We’ve always been lucky with public holidays in Hong Kong. But it’s even better this year. You can easily combine the public holidays with weekends, and take just a few days off work, and can enjoy a long break. Easter is the trump card. Take four days off and enjoy an 11-day trip by combing Easter and Ching Ming Festival. We’ve been lucky that a lot of public holidays fall on Fridays and Mondays this year, so start planning your getaways now. MARCH & APRIL | Easter & Ching Ming Festival
Travel Period: 25 March – 4 April
Take four day off work (29 March – 1 April) and get a total of 11-day holiday.
JUNE | Dragon Boat Festival
Travel Period: 9 – 12 June
Take one day off work (10 June) and get a total of 4-day holiday.
JULY | HKSAR Establishment Day
Date: 1 July (Friday)
SEPTEMBER | Mid Autumn Festival
Date: 16 September (Friday)
OCTOBER | Cheung Yeung Festival
Date: 10 October (Monday)
These public holidays fall on either Friday or Monday, which means you can have more weekend getaways!
DECEMBER & JANUARY | Christmas & New Year
Travel Period: 24 December – 1 January
Take three day off work (28 – 30 December) and get a total of 10-day holiday.
