Designer French clothing for kids and mums
15 November 2016
Most of us mums know Petit Bateau as a really sophisticated and fun kids’ clothing range from France, but did you know that it’s been around for more than a century? And the company hasn’t stopped evolving and growing; it now has stores in over 60 countries in the world, and some pretty distinguished fans, including the Duchess of Cambridge.
Now Petit Bateau has opened a fifth store in Hong Kong. Unlike the other outlets, which are mostly focused on the kids, we’re happy to say that this one has something for mums too. The new store in the Prince’s Building in Central will exclusively carry the brand’s Women line, offering the same high-quality clothing as for kids – items that are super comfortable and fun to wear. Plus, it also maintains a real edge of difference in the tie-in of styles between the adult and children ranges, a connection that allows parents and kids to wear clothes that share the same theme. It’s a novel way to attend a family event!
There’s a similar tie-in in the casual wear – which is so comfortable to hang out in, and perfect for long flights – and also in the sleepwear in brushed cotton, for those cooler nights we’ve all been looking forward to. The style fundamentals remain the same: nautical stripes and sailor inspirations, perfect for autumn, and especially winter. Three colours are key for this season: Medieval blue, Coquille red and Clafoutis beige; and Petit Bateau uses black as a chic contrast with the stripes – chic, but also feminine and modern.
Over a period of 120 years of weaving at its factory in the French town of Troyes, Petit Bateau has carefully perfected a unique style, focusing on high-quality timeless fashion for every stage of life and clothing that's always ultra comfortable and fun to wear.
All Petit Bateau products for babies up to 36 months of age, as well as all underwear and nightwear, are certified by the Oeko-Tex label that guarantees that they are free of harmful chemicals and safe for human use.
Petit Bateau’s new store is at Shop 325, 3/F, Prince’s Building, Central
